Wireless Baby Video Monitor – Don’t Leave Home Without It!

Wireless video baby monitors are a great way for parents to keep watch over their little ones. A wireless monitor is more convenient and has a higher level of quality making it have more appeal than a traditional monitor. For parents who want flexibility and control, instead of being plugged in to one location choose a wireless model.
Wireless baby monitors have multiple benefits. A video monitor will allow a parent to have portability that is not available with traditional monitors, while still giving a parent peace of mind and it will not disturb the sleeping child. Through the use of monitors, parents are able to feel contented without having to spend endless hours stationed directly in a child’s room. They can go about completing other tasks while still feeling confident that their child is being properly supervised without ever entering the nursery.

A portable video monitor will allow parents to go anywhere in their home or yard and still watch the baby sleep. It will give a parent the ability to move throughout their home, instead of remaining in a single room so they can listen for the baby to wake up. With this, there’s no reason that a busy mom can’t get more done while still paying attention to her child.
A monitor with a video screen will allow a parent to have peace of mind by being able to watch their child sleep. They allow parents to check on their baby without accidentally waking the baby. It’s hard to get children back to sleep when they wake in the middle of the night, but with this, nighttime is made easier for both parent and child.

As children grow, the video monitor can assist adults having to watch them from another part of the house. Parents can feel comfortable working around the house because they can still watch their children playing. Children enjoys playing of their own, too.

Seeing why the baby is crying without going into the room is a great feature of the video monitor. Children get more riled up when their parents constantly come into the room and leave again. No matter what a child does while out of a parents view, it’s now possible for them to see. They can determine if the child is crying for attention, out of desperation at having lost a favorite toy, or because they are cold from losing their blanket.

Not only are wireless monitors convenient and helpful, but they are also fun! Parents often wonder what the baby is doing after they leave the room. The monitor enables for visual confirmation of what the child is doing. Parents can see all the cute things their baby does to lull herself to sleep.

18-Year-Old Continues To Elude Cops

The present day Jess James not including the killing, Huckleberry Finn, or Frank Abagnale is an 18-year-old adolescent wanted by five counties in Washington. He has led a life of crime starting when he was only 12. He began and has led a consistent career in theft. By the age of 15 “Colt” had been arrested nine times and spent time at several juvenile facilities. He was even arrested for breaking into his local school.

“Colt” dropped out of high school and spent his teens burglarizing vacant homes. On Camano Island a vacation community of 15,000 people off the Washington coast Colt earned the name as the “Barefoot Burglar” because he chose to burglarize homes with no shoes.

Over time, he graduated to more difficult crimes. He would break into homes, steal cars, boats and everything else he could get his hands on. He also copied down credit card numbers and purchased thousands of dollars worth of video games, GPS devices, and police scanners online using the stolen credit cards. This way he could get all he wanted, without the owner knowing the credit card has been stolen.

During his career of squatting homes he has also survived in the forest. He’s even been described by Detective Ed Wallace as “a feral child,” because he hides in foliage. He was caught, arrested, and plead guilty in 2007 but in less than a year he was out and back in the game.

After he was out police began receiving reports that thefts were occurring that fit the “barefoot burglar” outline. In 2008 police were close to catching him until he jumped out of a stolen moving vehicle. After the occurrence police were able to find a stolen digital camera in the abandoned car that had a picture of Harris-Moore on it.

Although he is still on the loose he is facing 10 counts in that case, along with other thefts, internet crimes and burglaries. He dropped out of sight on the island for a while, but then cops were getting notices of similar break-ins in the San Juan Islands. Police thought he was island hopping. Then Wallace received word of a theft of a Cessna 182 from the San Juan islands last November. Then he remembered seeing on Harris-Moore’s computer that he had looked at flight manuals and how to fly a a airplane.

Then a different small experimental aircraft went missing and officials believe Harris-Moore is responsible. Although he hasn’t been charged in these plane thefts, authorities are testing vomit found in the cockpit of one of the stolen planes to see if it matches the teen. Even though this “barefoot burglar” never took flight training, police are sure he’s the unknown pilot.

It’s complex to teach yourself to fly but it isn’t unheard of. It sounds as if it wouldn’t be difficult to fly the plane if he wasn’t too concerned about landing it or reusing it. Just last week he stole a boat and used it to get to Point Roberts where he burglarized three vacation homes. Then he stole another plane from Bonner’s Ferry, Idaho. The plane was out of fuel but he wrecked it and discarded it.

Then police received notification of a burglary in Granite Falls, Washington The only stuff missing were “blankets, shoes, and food.” Police decided to search the woods but a gunshot rang out. No one was wounded but the SWAT team did take action. Police searched the area using an infrared heat detection scanner and a Blackhawk helicopter provided by the Department of Homeland Defense.

Harris-Moore has a skill for eluding police and other law enforcement officials. Not only has he escaped detection and arrest, but he survives these planes that he crashes and ditches. Although he may have a more difficult time now that the FBI is involved because he took stolen assets across state boundaries and that’s a federal offense.

Driving Down The Highway With Teenager On Roof

An Alabama mother is charged with endangering the welfare of her teenager. The child was sitting in a cardboard box on the roof of her van down a main road. Albertville police arrested the 37-year-old mother. Police received several phone calls that a minivan on the highway had a child sitting on top.

The woman when questioned by police revealed that the box was too large to fit in the minivan and they needed it. So, the only thing to do was situate the box on top of the van. She said that the box would have fallen off so she had her daughter sit in the box in order to hold it down.

When police questioned the woman about how safe that was for her child she disclosed that she had secured the box with a clothes hanger. So what I am trying to know from this story is how a clothes hanger would secure the box.

Maybe she bent the hanger around the rack on the roof of the minivan and then poked it through the box so the girl could clutch on or something. Whichever way, this is the most ludicrous thing I have heard a person do in a long time. I grant this mother the “idiot of the week award.”

Even though the 13-year-old girl was on the roof in the box she wasn’t injured. The mother was out on bond soon after the incident. What doesn’t make sense to me is why she couldn’t flatten the box or find a rope to attach it on.

It seems like a big jump to go from it won’t fit in the car to jump on top and I will strive to drive home carefully. I wonder what the rest of her relatives thought of the incident. They possibly thought it was fine just like the mother.

Not only was this stupid but it was very dangerous. The girl would have landed on the road if for any reason her mother would have slammed on the breaks. She would have gotten road rash, in all probability have head trauma, and possibly been hit by her mothers or anothers automobile.

This situation could have turned into a tragedy but fortunately it didn’t. It makes me speculate if this lady is one of those parents that drives around with her children on her lap rather than in a car seat. It is prohibited for children not to be restrained while riding in the car because it’s risky.

Some parents just don’t take their children’s safety seriously. If anything would have happened there wouldn’t have been anything to protect her. The mother in the car had a seatbelt, airbags, and the metal on her car to protect her but this girl had nothing. This cardboard box wouldn’t have stood up to anything. Plus she would have flown out of it beforehand. I hope that the law enforcement comes down hard on this lady because she is absolutely mad!

How College Students Can Protect Themselves

When guardians send their kids to college, most worry. However, they tend to worry about their son or daughter’s accomplishments in school, their funds, roommate relations, and personal decisions. Now they have to face an even more frightening reality, one in which violence is growing on college campuses.

With the recent case of Annie Le – the murdered Yale med student-, parental anxiety just went up another notch. The account is even more disturbing because she went missing while at her employment on campus during the middle of the day. Her assumed murderer wasn’t a local transient or drug dealer but a fellow student.

Now parents have to face a harsh new reality that, when they drop their students off at school, they may never see them again. Instead of the usual weekly call about dates, projects, or roommate spats, they may instead get a phone call saying that their child has been hurt or is missing.

With missing students, unsolved murders, sexual assault, and college shootings, students really need to be wary and watch out for their wellbeing. In 2005, there were 16 million students attending 4,200 college and universities. Of all violent crimes on campuses, barely 35 percent were reported according to estimates.

Granted, college campuses are safer than society as a whole. But are they safe enough? Are there enough emergency poles around campuses that students can get to in time? Do students feel like they can come forward and make a statement about violent crimes against them?

These are questions that schools and administrators are constantly trying to address, but, in the meantime, students need to be on guard for their safety. All college students think that they’re pretty resilient and can control themselves, but can they? Even if they say they’re fine, here are some suggestions that can help them remain safe:

1. Carry pepper spray or mace.

2. Don’t walk on your own at night- especially if you’re a small girl. Remember the old saying, there is safety in numbers. Plus, it’s more amusing to be with other people anyways.

3. If you’re going on a date with someone you don’t know, go on a group date with friends. This will not only be more fun in case the date is a little uncomfortable, but your friends can help look after you if your date turns out to be a suspicious character.

4. Be trained and use defensive techniques like karate. Your elbow is the strongest bone in your body, so use it and aim for vulnerable areas of the body like the nose, eyes, and other areas. The more you’re able to defend yourself, the more likely you will be able to get out of the situation.

5. Listen to your instinct and leave if you feel troubled. This may get you out of a sticky situation before it gets out of control. What’s the worst that will happen if you leave? You might miss out on an activity.

6. Even though I’m not advocating the use of weapons, and many schools prohibit their students from having them, quite a few students have opted to carry a concealed weapon. They have a safer feeling when they have them because they can protect both themselves and possibly others.

7. Yell at the top of your lungs. an officer gave me a sound piece of advice. He said if anyone ever tries to kidnap or hurt you, scream as loud as you can because most perpetrators will hurry and leave if you make too much racket. Their number one concern is not getting caught.

Although you never know what will happen from one day to the next, you can get ready by learning and implementing some of these ideas into your life. This may not keep you out of harm’s way, but it will give you every possibility you have to stay alive and get out of the situation.

GET MORE COMPLIANCE FROM YOUR CHILD.

By using rewards – You can focus on your child’s positive attitude instead of the negatives by trying to put a marble in a jar when ever your child starts doing something for the first time that you asked which in turn provides more cooperation from your child. Your child is then less likely to oppose if he/she feels that he/she have some control of the situation when trying to gain cooperation from your child. If your child argues, all you have to do is to repeat that rule over and over, as opposed you starting a debate with your child and as a result of doing this, you will gain more cooperation from your child.

COMMON CHILD AND PARENT PROBLEMS.

Oh, sure parents have been through difficult years or so, and then of course they know a lot better compared to our children, what we must keep in mind is that times have changed and what was be right for them in the past may not be right for their children. Though, children do not realize that not all parents can actually afford to pay high prices for their children clothes and shoes, I know that your own child won’t take that into consideration, he/she wants to be just like the others, and often say that if others have it, why can’t they have it too. Do not let fear overcome you, the joyful experience that a child can bring to their parents is enough to pay for all the hardships that you will endure in rearing a good child. Parenting may be hard for some, while it can be easy for others.
MAKE MEMORIES WITH QUALITY FAMILY TIME. THE FOLLOWING TIPS ENSURE THAT YOUR FAMILY TIME WILL BE STRESS FREE AND WILL ENSURE THAT YOU WILL MAKE YOUR FAMILY MEMORIES LAST FOR A LIFETIME:

>> Remember that by having pleasant dinner talks it is one of the most effective and the simplest way to create family bonds/ties and this will truly make your memories last you for a lifetime. Be sure to maintain a pleasant conversation at dinnertime as well as having inspirational and upbeat conversations too. If dinnertime conversations are not pleasant, your family members will not even remember these times spent together as a family and in turn family dinners this will easily be just an activity that they don’t want to participate in. If your family does not want to participate in family dinner due to unpleasant conversation, that is certainly counterproductive of quality family time. >> Remember, it is very important to always keep positive and upbeat conversational topics. Talking about negative topics in the news or anything that is unpleasant should not be done while dining with your family members. Talking about negative topics while eating is rather quite unhealthy physically and emotionally. It is of utmost importance that you discuss serious issues together with your children some times but, that is inappropriate while dining together. Your goal is to produce long lasting good memories from these causal conversations over a family dinner and you want your family to look forward to spending more of these moments together.

Looking Good Nursery Schools

The very words “Child Care” can create a wealth of emotion when the subject is raised. Caring for a child is one of the most important things anyone can do. Taking proper care of a child can mean the difference in development between a well adjusted and mal-adjusted adult. Thousands upon thousands of words have been written on the subject of child care and today child care itself has grown into a huge industry.

Enormous changes have taken place over the last two generations concerning the way in which children are cared for. Years ago the child’s mother took sole responsibility for bringing up her child (apart from those children whose parents were wealthy enough to employ a nanny or a governess) whereas nowadays parents both work full time. In today’s world, it has become an economic necessity for both parents to work against a background of ever increasing costs plus a lifestyle, which our grandparents could never have begun to imagine. Child care is now extremely big business. Nurseries for babies and toddlers have mushroomed and, in some cases, parents have to put their child’s name down to attend a particular nursery soon after the child is born.

All parents think their children are special and they are. However, once a baby or toddler begins to attend nursery or nursery school that child has no choice but to learn and accept that attention from staff has to be shared between all the children. An only child has become used to being the focus of attention at home. It often comes as a considerable shock for an only child to realise the world doesn’t revolve round him/her. However, children are far more versatile and resilient than most parents realise and most children soon adapt to a new environment. This forced interaction with other children can in fact, be extremely beneficial, especially for only children. Many of these only children often have to cope, at some stage, with the arrival of brothers or sisters, which frequently creates jealousy on the part of an only child. Having learnt to share attention with others at nursery or nursery school prepares a child to accept a new member of the family far more easily than would have been the case had that child not learnt to interact with children of the same age.

Choosing a suitable nursery usually throws parents into a panic as they consider the implications. How will they recognise which nurseries offer excellent care? Will all the staff be fully trained? What is the percentage of staff to children? Are meals provided? What is the level of cleanliness, both in the nursery and in the kitchens? Is time set aside for babies and toddlers to sleep? How good is security at the nursery? Does bullying occur? What arrangements are in place if a child should become sick? Many parents feel overwhelmed and have no idea where to turn for advice. Nurseries which fulfil all the requirements needed to operate a successful nursery are normally registered with the local community which will be happy to supply details of these nurseries to anxious parents. One of the best ways of deciding upon a suitable nursery is, of course, by recommendation. Mothers whose children already attend nursery are generally are only too happy to advise other mothers which nurseries are particularly good as opposed to those which are merely satisfactory.

Another option for childcare is to employ a nanny who will work at the family home. This option has become something of a minefield due to fairly recent high profile cases in which a nanny has physically harmed a child in her care. Other cases have actually resulted in the death of the baby by the nanny left in charge. It must be emphasised that these cases are very rare indeed and are not representative in any way of the majority of child care undertaken by nannies. A reputable agency supplying nannies has strict rules in place for their selection. References will be required as to the nanny’s previous positions and will be scrupulously followed up. If the references are not satisfactory, the nanny will not be recommended for that particular vacancy or any other.

A section of childcare often taken for granted is that of grandparents who are happy to devote countless hours looking after their grandchildren. Grand parents offer one of the very best forms of childcare, simply because of the relationship between them and their grandchildren whom they look on as their own. In addition, this form of childcare usually comes free although some parents give financial payment for the time and effort expended on their children by doting grandparents.

There is no doubt that most babies and toddlers acquire confidence by attending nursery schools. A child who has never spent time away from home finds it tremendously stressful if he/she ever has to cope with the absence of a mother perhaps through hospitalisation. On the other hand, a child who has learnt to adapt to a different environment will not be nearly as traumatised by the absence of a parent and will be able to deal with the separation far more easily.

Obviously, all children attending nursery school have to conform to certain rules, which amount to a form of discipline. It has long been acknowledged that children exposed to discipline welcome the fact that boundaries have been set which makes them feel more secure and, consequently, happier. Some children will always rebel but all children will be faced with some form of discipline as they grow up and will also be expected to comply with rules and regulations in the workplace. Without such rules, anarchy would reign. Quite simply, discipline is based on showing consideration for other people and their possessions.

A lack of knowledge about the issues is considered to be one of the main problems about of American election system. There is a lot to be said in knowing the significant local and world current events and all the diverse challenges and ramifications they may bring. Before we cast our ballot, it is our job as sensible citizens to be knowledgeable voters.

Our political parties seem to focus mostly on getting more people to the polls, but we really do not want people.

Starting at an early age, youngsters should be trained about critical world and town political issues so they can understand the significance of being well-informed citizens. This is a habit and way of thinking that should be taught to our kids. Bottom line, current events ought to be taught as part of a child’s learning.

Various very simple stock market items might also work well for current events for children. These events in their entirety may not be something children of a young age can totally comprehend, but they can get the general concept, and it does mean they are more in touch with what is happening around them.

Don’t forget to keep discussions to the point, simple and interesting. By frequently exposing them to new things, one day something clicks with them and they’ll show keen fascination about a topic. For youngsters that are being home schooled, including current events in their education makes things even easier. Just don’t forget to incorporate current event discussions on a daily or weekly timetable.

Constantly keep alert for newspapers, magazines and websites that can aid you in keeping your conversations appealing. Using multi-media is usually a smart idea to present kids with a more exciting presentation of your current events for kids’ discussions.

Learning The Basics Of Understanding Your Child

The majority of the time us parents are too hard and strict with their children. We scold and reprimand them for their behavior and in the end become sorry for doing so. Responsible parenthood means understanding your children. Here are some tips on how you can succeed in this part of parenthood.

Get To Know Your Children

When you have the time, individually talk to each of your children. Tell them about personality that are exclusive to them. By doing this, a special bond with your child is established. By doing this, you will be able to comprehend them better.

Having the time to talk with your child is crucial to becoming a responsible and successful parent. At the same time, it will help you in guiding your child as they grow up.
It’s worthwhile. The payoff is the first-hand knowledge of who your child is, which lays the basis for the counseling you offer them.

Treat Your Child According To Their Personality

Since your child is unique from each other, you need to treat them individually. What is applicable to one may not be precisely the same to the other. The attitude one-size-fits-all is not exactly ‘hold water’ in this case. Doing so will create some problems with your connection with your children.

You need to tailor your actions and treatment according to the disposition of each child. It is important to train your child according their nature so they would not forget it even if they become old, which is what the Proverbs say.

Criticize Their Traits, Not Behavior

When reprimanding, criticize your child for the personality trait that led to the inappropriate behavior and not for their action. As the saying goes, you need to trim the root and not the fruit. Ignoring the trait that causes the bad choice can lead to similar results in the future.

Do not scold your child but concentrate on the trait that led them to do such action. The action may not be bad but it is what caused such behavior. The resulting behavior may have been the right one based on the bad trait so the latter is what you need to correct.

As a parent, you need to determine the real cause of the problem by rooting out the bad trait that led to the wrong action. This is only possible when you have an understanding of your child.

Praise Your Child For Their Action

On the other hand, a good personality trait should be treated positively. On the other hand, they should not be connected to their action as this could pressure them to establish their goodness by constantly doing good. In the process, they could wear themselves down.

Bear in mind that your child is endowed with inherent personalities. They will remain in your child so you need to channel them suitably. Everyone of us have our own tendencies, whether innate or developed in the course of experience. We are not responsible for them but our liability is with our actions.

Teach Your Child To Control Their Character

When it comes to personality traits, there are always two sides to it: positive and negative. Not getting angry is a positive character but it can also turn out to be a negative trait.

As a parent, you are responsible for teaching your child, learn about their primary character traits as well as the strengths and challenges that they offer. Helping them understand their own personality traits can last a lifetime.

By following these tips, you will be able to master the skill of understanding your child and in the process ensure a balanced relationship with your child.

Ten Tips On Really Getting To Know Your Kids

Parenting can be a frustrating experience especially if you cannot seem to establish a well-balanced relationship with your adolescent. There are times when you find yourself in disagreement with your child because of the so-called generation gap. The key to having a harmonious relationship with your child lies on how well you understand them. Here are 10 tips on dealing with your teen and understanding your child.

Set a boundary between your role as a parent or a friend.

Aside from being a father or mother to your child, you can also be a buddy to them. But sometimes you need to make a distinction between being a parent and the same time a friend to your child. Friends will always have the tendency to judge your child whenever they confide their problems.

As parents, you cannot do this because of your care for the child. Friends can be found anyplace but good parents is a rare commodity these days.

Show Your Involvement

This is true specially if you are engaged with your work and hardly ever have the time to be with your youngster. Being involved means finding the time to be with them whenever you have the spare time. Try to find out whats going on in your child’s life, their thoughts and outlook so that they will be at ease coming to you when they are in difficulty.

Prepare Them To Be Answerable

As a parent, you are responsible for preparing your child for adult life. Teach them that if they want something, effort should be exerted in order to achieve it. Cash is not the chief thing, it is being reliable and independent which matters. Provide them their allowance for jobs but don’t hand out money if they are not doing their part. This way, you are training them to live in this world.

Listen To Them

As a parent, it is your job to listen to them and understand what they want. You should avoid making any judgment even if they are in conflict or disrespecting you. Try to get the message that they are trying to convey as it often means they need your help.

Explain Your Side

By letting them know the reasons for your decision, you are helping them become good decision makers themselves.
