Doomsday In 2012 – Is It Hoax?

December 21, 2012 – What is it: Is this the end of the world?

The ancient Maya saw the stars and the expected changes in land and in their catastrophic long count calendar date of December 21 marks, 2012, at the end of the world.

Solar Flare, Polar Investments, volcanoes and earthquakes

The first News that would be the end of the world, a huge eruption, is caused by magnetic fields of the sun, unusual. NASA SO for 2012 predicted the increase in the number of sunspots and flares. This disorder probably satellite and power outages.

The solar flare in turn affects the polarity of the earth and turns the North Pole to the South Pole. And may occur a number of catastrophic chain reaction. Change polo field geomagnetism lost to earthquakes volcanoes and tidal waves flooded and there was massive destruction of life on Earth.

Since the magnetic fields of low land prices do not protect against cosmic and solar radiation would affect the nuclear reactors in nuclear power plants. Buildings and skyscrapers was broken, and hang a cloud of volcanic ash.

2012, a joke is his?

Do you think that if scientists at NASA scientifically demonstrate the maximum solar flare? A quick Google search for “2012 NASA solar flares” is an article “Solar Storm Warning” on the NASA Web site. Many people around the year 2012 only telling a joke or scam. And be skeptical is normal, because we all lived in a world of irregularities and fraud. But make no mistake; this is certainly not a joke. We simply have no label is beyond our knowledge and deception. Leave us a scientific explanation for 2012 is approaching. Before that, you are prepared enough to survive? “There were prophecies of doom and always goes by the mists of time and the time it will be many others. The last line is planned for 2012. December 21, 2012 prophecy fulfilled World’s End. Does this mean that the day of reckoning came in December 2012?

Let’s face it, is 2012 really the hype that date approaches to awareness. There are at least part of 2012 to talk like the people, whether through the Internet or offline. It is also a film about the liberation of 2012th

So, marking this date as Doomsday? The Long Count ends the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012th No information about the Maya, what happens after 2012. This conclusion is supported by many researchers and do not stop there. The believers of the end of the world, say that the terrible events in 2012. Nostradamus, famous for his prophecies and predictions for the year 2012.

The faithful have foretold the prophecy of some of the events: – meteorites, asteroids and comets strike, super volcano eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, the particle accelerator experiment that goes awry, solar storms (solar flares) and changing magnetic fields of the country. The widespread destruction beyond the control of humanity is what is expected in the prophecy believers.

Of course there are the believers, if there is also a skeptic. Skeptics believe that the long expected end of the Mayan calendar, because their will in 2012, a timetable that, in contrast to the times of each year. Some skeptics believe that their culture disappeared before he had a long schedule.

The Raising On Global Temperature

Global warming is the growth in the moderate temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and seas since the mid20th century and its protruded continuation. Global warming is indicated by signs to form this kind of event occur twenty-five percent, fifty percent more,” he told sky news. “It is a serious reminder of the demand for this country and the entire globe to behave and assign at a priority our need to undertake global climate change. Patterns advise global warming could bring temperature moves up as high as 6c for Australia this century, if global emissions keep on intense, with rainfall lessening in the southern states and altering more norths. As if to exhibit that, queensland, to the north, is now going through widespread flooding aft rainfall of historic parts. More than sixty% of queensland has been announced a catastrophe geographical zone in the worst floods for more than thirty years. Roughly 3,000 houses have been involved, and the primary main road between cairns and townsville has been interrupt. Roger stone, a climate expert at the University of Southern Queensland, told: “It for sure suits the global climate change patterns, but I’ve to sum up the provision that it is very hard, even with extreme circumstances like this, to always assign it to global climate change. The fires and floods come as politicians prepare t

o manage a new global conduct to fight global climate change, to substitute the kyoto protocol. Australia programs a comprehensive carbon trading schema, but green campaigners last year charged kevin rudd’s authorities of a “betrayal” when it sworn to cut down emissions by a small-scale 5-15% by 2020.

Global warming isn’t because of individual share of carbon dioxide (co2). This as a matter of fact is the biggest deception in the history of science. We’re wasting time, energy and trillions of dollars while creating unnecessary fear and panic over an issue with no scientific justification. For example, environment canada brags about spending $3. 7 billion in the last five years dealing with global climate change almost totally on propaganda seeking to support an unjustifiable scientific perspective while simultaneously closing meteorological observation post and failing to assemble legislated pollution targets.

No reasonable individual looks for dispute, particularly with authoritieses, but if we do not go after the truth, we’re lost as humans and as a society. That is why i insist on telling that there’s no proved that we’re, or could ever cause global climate change. Izrael, V.P. of the UN sponsored intergovernmental board on global climate change (ipcc) supported this argument. So how has the globe come to conceive that something is incorrect? Perhaps for the same cause we considered, thirty years ago, that global temperature reduction was the greatest terror: a matter of faith.

“It’s a cold reality: the global temperature reduction delivers mankind with the most significant social, political, and adaptive challenge we have had to consider with for 10000 years. Your interest in the conclusions we make regarding it’s of quality importance; the survival of ourselves, our youngsters, our species,” wrote lowell ponte in 1976. I was as contradicted to the terrors of impending doom global cooling caused as I’m to the threats made about global warming.

How To Install Residential Solar Power Systems

Are you thinking of installing residential solar? If you are, then here is an article about how much it might cost and how much work it will take.

Make a decision about how much of your house do you actually want to be run on residential solar power. You could use solar power to heat your water tank. You could go further and take your home completely off-grid thus ensuring the whole house is running on solar power. It’s up to you, but you must discover what your home’s monthly average electric usage actually is.

To work out the average energy usage of your home, simply dig out your monthly electricity bills going back over the last two years. Do some calculations. Be aware of the year’s peak times, like Christmas when you would normally go through a lot more power than normal. We are trying to set up your home’s residential solar power system so it can surely cope with whatever demands your home may plave upon it.

Now, so you can sleep easy at nights, multiply that amount by at least 1.5. If any extra appliances are brought into your home you remain fully covered. So, by the time you’ve done this you will know how much residential solar power you need. You will also be able to tell how many solar panels you need and what size they have to be.

These days, you would almost always be best advised to look online when buying solar panels. Go to Ebay with the words “solar panel pallet” exactly as is. Sit back and be prepared to be amazed by the incredible bargains you will find there. If you think they seem expensive, please don’t forget that these prices are a one time cost and solar panels tend to have a lifetime of at least 25 years.

Without exception, always employ a skilled, experienced residential solar power technician to install your solar power. Look for them online or in your telephone directory. Keep going until you have three quotations for the job, but don’t necessarily choose based entirely on the price. Cost is important, but you can gain extra reassurance of a job well done from an experienced solar power technician when installing solar power for homes.

You will also have to shop around for a good quality inverter. When solar panels harness the sun’s energy they turn that energy into direct (DC) current. The inverter will convert this DC current into alternating (AC) current from which we can all enjoy running all our electrical toys and gizmos.

Roughly costing $2,000 plus maybe $500 for installation, inverters tend to last about 10 years. Bare in mind solar panels.

For those who want to go completely off-grid, good quality batteries are essential to store the excess solar power you pull down on sunny days. Use this reserve of power to run your home’s electrical needs at night-time. The deep-cycle batteries will probably cost $50 to $100. You will probably need to buy about 10 of them. Their longevity is not so good as the inverter. Expect to have to replace them every 3-5 years.

Be sure to enquire your local authorities if they will give you any assistance for the cost of installing solar power for homes. Most local authorities offer some form of tax credits for this job. Ask your local electricity company as well. They might have some good incentives or special deals. Do this right and you could cut the total price by half or more.

Although it is essential you get a qualified electrician, you’ll be pleased to hear that installing solar power for homes doesn’t have to involve a lot of electrical work. Generally. However, this is not often an extensive job. Just don’t forget to be sure to use a qualified, experienced electrician.

Residential solar power is a long-term investment. When calculating the value of installing solar power, you want to be asking, “What is the payback time?” After everything is all paid off, you have can kick back and relax with a house that will run on free residential solar power for many years to come!

How Much Does A Carbon Offset Cost?

For self-styled environmentalists and regular folk just looking to do their part, there is often concern over the subject of carbon offsets. The basic lack of knowledge on the part of the American public is, while troubling, not altogether surprising. The information is difficult to find and at times difficult to process.

See more information about carbon offsets.

Your standard environmental poll always asks some version of the following questions: 1) are you concerned about issues of the environment, and 2) if so, does that concern factor into the types of purchases you make or the companies you make them from? The resounding answer to both of these questions is ‘yes’. While over-reporting of environmental concern is to be expected (probably equally as much as over-reporting of voting habits or under-reporting of tax evasion), we can reasonably expect that 60-70% of all Americans at least claim to care about the environment and at least claim that it will affect their choices. So why doesn’t it?

The simple answer is because there’s a prevailing sense that being an environmentalist takes too much work. It’s a non-starter for Average Joe that he needs a degree in environmental science or economics, or, God forbid, environmental economics, just to try to do something to show he cares about the planet.

This is where carbon offsets come into the equation. They’re the perfect intersection point between environmentalism and capitalism. It’s a market-based incentive for companies and farms and renewable energy plants to reduce the total amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, and for people to write a simple check instead of going back to grad school or spending hours of their free time researching the best organic fair-trade hypo-allergenic bamboo bibs for their new child.

The problem is, people don’t know what they are and those that do don’t know how they work. The most important question becomes, for the group in question, how much does it cost? And the answer, of course, is: “well, that all depends.”

Let’s start with the basics. Everything you do adds carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is bad because it represents part of what causes global warming and most of what frightens Republicans who don’t want to pay for it. Every metric ton of C02 produced has a variable price associated with it. That price, however, is reflected not directly but indirectly: it is priced rather in terms of how much it costs somebody else to capture and mitigate one metric ton of CO2.

So, if you want to reduce your carbon footprint and you don’t know what appliance to buy or just don’t have the time or patience to find out, you need to buy carbon credits, or find someone to take your money and buy them for you. Carbon credits are simple financial instruments that represent metric tons of CO2 reduced by others.

The reason there is no set price for carbon credits in the US is two-fold: 1) there is no regulatory apparatus yet devised by Congress or the White House to set the price, because 2) every industry has different costs. It costs a solar power plant a lot to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere because the technology is fledgling and still not cost effective. That makes their credits expensive. On the contrary, it’s easy and cheap for a farm to trap gas in the soil, so they’re able to price them more cheaply. There is no set price for a carbon credit in the US.

In short, a carbon credit in the US worth one metric ton of CO2 could cost anywhere from 10 cents to $15. Under the European Trading Scheme, a metric ton(ne) has been priced as high as the Euro equivalent of $60.

So how do you buy a credit? Simply put, you can’t do it yourself. You don’t have access to the market. You need to find a company to do it for you. Footprint Zeroed, for instance, is a web-based company with tremendously accurate and thorough calculators that can help you determine what your carbon footprint is and provide you a fair price to offset it based on the cost they incur from the projects they buy credits from.

This is how the market works in a very basic sense. Contact a company like Footprint Zeroed to get the specifics, but take away the following points: it’s easy to do what’s right for the environment, it doesn’t have to take over your day, and there are companies out there who can do it for you.

Green Project Of The Week: Do It Yourself Photovoltaic Panels

There was a definite chill in the air this weekend, the first time I’ve noticed it. I usually associate football season with cold weather but we’ve been so lucky so far that I think I was in denial. But Sunday morning definitely hammered home the fact that we’re running out of warm days and moving into fall.

But there’s still time for some home projects before the season really takes hold. I spent some time last week working with the kids on a solar panel, and it was a blast! If you’re looking for something to do outside, it’s a project that can improve your home’s energy consumption and provide a learning opportunity for kids, scout troops, and classrooms at the same time. Constructing a solar panel is easier than it sounds, and it carries the added benefit of potentially reducing your energy expenses as the winter arrives.

You’ve probably seen offers for a solar panel kits before, and all of them have the same drawback – they’re not able to show you what to do, nor do they do that great a job explaining the science behind it. DIY Green, however, has solved that problem by creating a companion video series that accompanies their plans and instructions. This way, you are able to learn by watching as well as reading the instructions. Everyone I know who’s used this kit found this to be incredibly helpful. Video helps you perform the steps reliably and correctly, because you’ve seen someone else do it. They’re very professional and easy to understand, and they make this a great package for anyone who wants high-quality results.

Having become the proud owner of a solar panel and inverter, I can say that this was a very worthwhile project! The instructions really work, and the materials came in a little bit under budget. I also got kudos from kids, neighbors, and the Home Depot guys! It was really fulfilling to do a project that keeps on giving. We don’t have a good roof for mounting a panel, so we decided to build in a little stand for the panel. That way we can take it out wherever we need to plug something in.

And it really does work! I have to say that DIY Green did a fantastic job with this kit. extra credit in physics (which she hated two weeks ago!). All around, I’d say it was a major hit, and suitable for kids 10 and up with the help of an adult.

Battery:
Add water distilled to the battery of your vehicle whenever it is necessary and if the battery requires it. Remember that the liquid need to surpass the level of the plates just a little, consider the measurement, since an excess also can be detrimental for your car.

Which is the mechanism by which the electrolyte of the battery is reduced?

The water contained in the electrolyte of the battery is electrolyzed by means of chemical reaction that takes place when the battery is recharged; the electrolyzed water is freed as gas of hydrogen and oxygen and the amount of electrolyte of the battery is reduced gradually. Also it is reduced due to the natural evaporation of the water.
How is judged the life utility of the battery? The life utility of the battery varies to a great extent depending on the situation of use, but normally it can say that it is of 2 to 4 years. One knows that the life utility of the battery almost is finished when they appear the following phenomena:
The speed of turn of the motor is slow when starting or the starter nontour.
* The tension of the battery lowers drastically when starting the motor, after it having even recharged sufficiently.
* The specific gravity of the electrolyte of the battery does not increase when recharging it.
* The specific gravity of the electrolyte of the battery varies to a great extent between different cells.
The volume of the battery electrolyte has been reduced enough. When judging the life utility of the battery several factors must be consider, among them the tension of the battery: if the tension is of 9V or more at the moment for taking the motor, it indicates a fluctuation or great reduction of the volume of the electrolyte.

Is deteriorated the battery if it is not used?

When the battery is not used absolutely, the stored energy is lost gradually. This takes place due to a slow chemical reaction between the plates positive and negative in the battery that causes one descharge. In addition to this, the electricity is consumed with the clock and other accessories of the automobile, even if the motor is not ignited. When the vehicle is not used during prolonged periods, it is recommended to start the engine once in a while during a sufficiently long period to recharge the battery or to put it in slow load.

What is what shortens the life utility of the battery?

A great unloading and recharges of the battery. For example when:
The vehicle is only used at night. (The electrical charge is greater.)
* The vehicle is stopped during long periods of time with the motor to the slow motion (minimum).
* The amount of generated electricity is small.
* The motor is often taken to the day. (The electrical charge is great.)
* Also when the temperature of the battery is high (circulation prolonged at low speeds or in clogging of traffic).
Lack of electrolyte in the battery.

Refrigeration:

When needs to add water in cooling system, never take off cover of radiator when motor is hot, because you could undergo burns since the liquid that is there is under high pressures and temperatures, wait until refrigeration system reduces its temperature, also is necessary to take the necessary safety measure.

System of Direction:
it’s recommended to inspect the system of the direction of your vehicle to verify a possible wearing down, that it can get to be a dangerous condition when drives your vehicle. Inspect the conditions of the direction steering wheel, as far as an excessive free game, strange slowness, or sounds. This is for your security, the control that you have on your car reside in the steering wheel.

Fuel saving:
When there is very low temperature; warm up the motor of 30 to 45 seconds. More time spends fuel uselessly. Accelerate little by little when it initiates his route, at moderate speed. Hope to that the temperature of the motor becomes stabilized to demand the total power of its automobile. If it accelerates thorough when starting, it can cause a wearing down of the motor, damage the spark plugs or the injectors and produce excessive coal deposits. Use an oil of good quality to give extra protection him to the motor in the starting, mainly to low temperatures. In cars of manual transmission, it changes of speed when the system allows it. The low speeds are designed to obtain a fast acceleration, whereas the fourth and villa is for saving combustible.
The maintenance of its car diminishes the fuel consumption in a 10%, in addition of which it will have a better yield. Review it every six months or every 10 thousand kilometers. Periodically maintain the air cleaner and change regularly. Watch the pressure of the tires, as well as the alignment and the balance. The short trips, mainly when the motor is cold, increase to the consumption of fuel and the contamination until in a 50%. Take off the car heavy objects that are not going to be used. By each 45 kilograms extra that it loads, the fuel consumption is increased in near 2%. In the city is preferable to use small cars, since they are economic, easy to manoeuvre and to park. When it handles in route, close the windows and use the inner ventilation, since to maintain them open it increases the air resistance on the vehicle and is greater fuel consumption. Do not abuse the air conditioned, as well as the heating. Not fill the tank until the top and verifies that or it is closed so that the fuel is not spilled or evaporates.

Specifics At How A Firewood Pellets Are Made In A Pellet Press

At present the world is facing many challenges in terms of supporting an economic recovery and at the same time continuing changes to our power supply change to tackle global warming. Our existing energy needs are met almost entirely by oil, gas and coal. The trouble is the incineration of these types of fossil fuel energy is responsible for increased global temperatures. Fossil fuels are a form of trapped carbon from deep underground. When we burn these fuels we are re-introducing carbon back into the air. The carbon in the atmosphere acts like a massive mirror, reflecting the suns power back at the planet. Therefore we need to shift away from carbon positive fuels on to more carbon neutral, and possibly carbon negative fuels. Biomass is any form of natural matter, which can be used as a fuel source. This includes wood waste from wood processing which has traditionally being turned into pellets. Premium fuel pellets are the highest grade of wood pellet fuel. Premium fuel pellets are formed mainly from pine and spruce residues.

Learn more about Pellet Press

Pellets stoves and boilers are used to burn wood pellets competently to warmth homes and businesses. Pellet stoves are used to heat single rooms or offer added heating to the rest of the home. Both units work on the principle of a pellet hopper, auger feed system and burn pot. The auger controls the speed of pellet feed to order the warmth of the fire. The burn pot also has a hot rod starting to ignite the fire. Therefore wood pellets give a very low maintenance way to heat with wood. Also wood pellets burn much more efficiently than say logs, premium pellet fuel can produce as little as 0.5% ash content.

Read more about Pellet Press

A pellet press is the key piece of equipment when making wood pellets. There are various different designs of pellet press, however the theory of all the designs remains pretty much the same. The pellet configuration takes place in the die. A die is a piece of metal a few inches in depth with holes drilled through to form the pellet. The size of the holes depends on the function of the pellets. For example pellets for pellet stoves are regularly 6mm in diameter, however pellet boilers can use a larger diameter of pellet up to 8mm. To squeeze the wood through the die to form pellets a series of rollers condense the material through the holes in the die. When the pellets leave the die they are very hot, and must be cooled before they can be used. Not all pellets produced are of the same quality. A quality pellet should have a shell shine, and break cleaning into only a few pieces.

Why Are Rocket Stoves Superior?

A quiet revolution is taking place in the world of wood burning stoves. In recent years firebox design has improved enormously due to more restrictive EPA rules on efficiency and emissions. To compete in the modern market a wood burning stove has to do a lot more than just burn firewood!

Unfortunately modern wood burning stove designs simply can’t get past the fact that a simple metal wood stove only throws out heat while it is lit. Once that fire is out temperatures rapidly fall and the winter chill sets back in again. To stay nice and snug you need to keep that fire fed continuously, an impractical proposition for anyone with a day job.

Fortunately there are some very clever people out there coming up with some equally ingenious (and simple!) ways to improve on the traditional wood stove. Cue thermal mass and the cob bench rocket stove.

The principals behind using thermal batteries to help smooth out variations in household air temperature are straightforward to explain and understand Generally heavy things can hold more heat than light things thus when a heavy thing gets hot it stores heat, which it can later release into its surroundings. You are used to this from on a summers evening – stone or brickwork which has been in the sun stays hot for a long time after hours later.

The larger the thermal battery you can heat up, and the hotter it gets, the more heat it can store. By incorporating thermal mass into the design of wood stoves we can store the intense heat provided by a hot wood fire and release it gradually over many hours into the home. This basically ‘smooths out’ temperatures – your living area stays warmer while the fire is out and doesn’t get uncomfortably hot while lit.

Even better than that, because we can let the fire burn at its fiercest, for short periods of time it also burns at its cleanest. This in practice ensures that no smoke will ever be produced.

Various different designs of wood stove that include thermal mass have been developed. These include large brick structures with a central firebox core, soapstone stoves which include relatively small pieces of soapstone around a firebox, and rocket stoves with a large cob bench.

While they each have their merits rocket stoves are my personal favourite – with some enthusiasm, a long weekend and a few dollars worth of raw materials you can make a rocket stove that will heat your home, reduce your demand for firewood and also be a unique piece of furniture or even part of the very fabric of your home.

Cob building is a type of construction where damp clay, sand and straw are hand moulded into place. In the case of a rocket stove a large mass of cob is constructed around a long length of horizontal flue. This cob mass may be built into the floor, part of a wall or even a comfortable bench or sofa in your sitting room. Your imagination is the limit as cob can literally be sculpted into any shape you and think of!
