Success In The Workplace Is All About Attitude And Approach

Whether you’re just entering the workforce or have been entrenched for many years or are creating your own business, the world of work is an intrinsic part of all of our lives. And for a relative few, it’s not all about the money.

Our lives in the work world can take many transitions:

As a teenager just entering the work world, it may be to earn enough money to buy a car, clothes, afford dates and for some, earn tuition into college. And along the way, discover if the type of work is one that appeals enough to continue, or indicates the need to try something else.

For others, who have taken a chosen path through college and are preparing to enter the work world, their focus will be following their path into positions for which they’ve studied. Although it’s just as possible that along the way, they may discover a penchant for something entirely different.

For those who have been entrenched in the work world for many years, it’s quite possible that their initial position(s) and intention(s) may have been shaped or even curtailed by the need to earn enough money to support a lifestyle that may include a spouse and maybe children and a mortgage.

For others, it’s not a rare occurrence that they have taken the lowliest, “entry”, position and worked their way up through the workplace and achieved all they desired in terms of personal accomplishment, respect within the workplace and garnered the wealth they need to support whatever their lifestyle.

For those who are creating their own business, it’s rare that it’s done right out of school, but more often a result of experience already gained working for someone else and in the belief that they can earn enough money to support an idea/product/service of their own, as well as support themselves. And hopefully, when it comes to hiring others to support this new business, experience has also been gained as to how to treat employees to get the best from them.

Whatever your position in relation to the world of work, one thing is clear – Your attitude towards work and/so how you approach it makes all the difference in how well you succeed.

You know the old saying about how there are no small parts, only small actors? It’s like that in the work world. There are no small positions, only small minds.

Regardless your position in the work world, there is always opportunity to improve your lot. So if you foster an attitude that you are not limited to your position, and approach each work day with an open mind and pay attention, you will discover ways that you can go from a sales clerk to store manager in just a few months.

Now if you’re thinking this sounds a bit like those commercials on tv that are suggesting you can go from a size 22 to a size 10 in a few months with their weight loss product and you think to yourself it sounds too good to be true, perhaps you didn’t pay attention to the part, “combined with exercise and a sensible diet”.

Which is to say, that whether it’s losing weight or achieving success in the work world, you will have to pay attention to everything that is going on around you, what you are doing and make a concerted effort to integrate yourself. In other words – You will have to work at it.

Right now there’s a tv commercial touting how you can work at home and buy a new home or earn $7,000 a month in your spare time … Which does sound exciting, but – NOT ONE WORD is said about HOW you can do any of this. Only that there’s a website that will show you.

If you’ve been enticed by such “come ons”, it’s understandable – Everyone one would like to be able to buy a new house or earn lots of money, and there are those who have achieved financial independence and monetary success via the Internet. So if you’ve gone to this or any other website seeking your fortune, that’s nothing to be ashamed about. But if you were believing that such sources would be THE answer to your success, ‘time for an attitude adjustment.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OVER NIGHT SUCCESS

The only way to achieve success is by planning your work and working your plan. And that’s much easier said than done. On and off the Internet.

Don’t believe the hype that it’s “easy”, to achieve financial independence and monetary success via the Internet. It’s not. In fact, it may very well be even more difficult to make a successful go of it on the Internet as opposed to in the “real”, world. Mostly because doing business on the Internet is still a relatively unknown quantity. Whereas in the “real”, world there are established ways of building a business and even well established businesses built upon helping others build a business.

Sure there are scores of websites designed to encourage you to start building your own business on the Internet, but – There are so many different attitudes and approaches towards doing so that it’s quite overwhelming and hard to know which ones really work.

There have been many people who have lost everything because of following a certain “guaranteed”, path of creating a successful business on the Internet.

Best advice – Don’t spend one thin dime or even attempt to start your own business on the Internet until you’ve taken a good deal of time and done extensive research of what’s being presented as THE way to achieve success on the Internet.

And if you do achieve a state where you believe that you know what will work for you – Be prepared to work, work, work. Establishing and maintaining a viable business on the Internet is no free or easy ride.

And if you work in the “real” world, here’s the real deal -

To achieve success from/with/in any position, the first steps you can take are to be at work every day, on time and to agree, without question, to do whatever is asked of you.

Of course, you shouldn’t do anything unethical, but in today’s work world, it’s very rare that an employer would even suggest such. Too much corruption and unethical behavior has been exposed and too many organizations have been established to protect people in the workplace for this to be a common occurrence.

A key example of practicing a positive attitude and approach regarding your work position: Consider your employer, all the way to the top position, as a person instead of, “THE MAN”. A person, just like you, who had to start somewhere, learn the ropes and make the climb to where they are.

Then, take a look at the big picture and ask yourself just how much you know to be able to run a company with all its complexities, right down to the process of hiring you.

If you consider your superiors as people who have not only earned their positions, but as people who have to continue to earn their positions, which involves a great deal more than your position, you’ll find that your attitude and approach towards them and consequently, the experience of working with them, will improve exponentially.

So what we’re talking about here is learning to adjust your own attitude and approach to become an asset to your workplace, which will naturally benefit you. And by being an asset, those who are in positions to help you advance within the workplace will be more likely to do so.

If you add to this mix a willingness to go the extra step, by volunteering at least your enthusiasm to learn more, do more, then you really will get noticed and yes, promoted, to the level of your incompetence, as the joke goes.

See, most people become their own worst enemy within the workplace because of their lackluster attitude and approach. Instead of looking for ways that they can keep their days at work at least interesting, if not exciting, which just naturally leads to advancements, they start watching the clock, goofing off, calling off sick and generally start seeing their position as a dead end job.

That’s not to say that there aren’t times when work positions truly are dead ends, but again, with a better attitude and approach, one can at least make the best of it, and begin looking for another position that may be more satisfying.

There are several important benefits of making the most of your current work position while seeking another:

1) It’s a fact that it’s much easier to find new employment when you’re already employed.

And -

2) It will allow you to give a two week notice, which is regarded as a common courtesy within the work world. Doing so will allow you to leave one position with a positive reference, and prove to your new employer that your attitude and approach is about doing the right thing.

NO ONE NEED BELIEVE THEY ARE STUCK IN A DEAD END JOB

Even if you’re someone who has been at the same workplace without feeling like you’re on the “fast track”, to improving your lot, but you believe it’s better to have a steady job than risk unemployment because you do have responsibilities – Take a good, hard, long look at your attitude and approach towards your work position and start thinking in terms of what YOU can do to improve it, instead of lamenting how it’s lacking.

But, if your efforts do not improve your position, start sending out resumes. Believe it or not, employers of other companies, especially if they’re in competition with your current employer, love to “steal”, away a long time employee. Such a transition usually is just what you need to achieve the advancements you had been seeking.

Then we have the relatively rare individual whose attitude and approach has been to actively participate within their workplace while “absorbing”, everything they could until they achieve a state of self confidence that leads them to believe they have what it takes to strike out on their own.

It may be with an improved product/service based on their previous work experience, or it may be based on solid research of an idea for a product/service they have happened upon for which they believe there is a need and one they believe they can market.

These individuals have definitely chosen the road less traveled – If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

For those of us on the sidelines, all we can do is support them however we can, to help them achieve success.

Whatever path you’re on with regards to the world of work, bottom line – Success doesn’t discriminate. It’s equally available to everyone, regardless of age or sex. You have only to cultivate and practice the hard won lessons learned by those before you and always be looking for opportunities to improve.

If you’re serious about achieving success in your workplace, as an employer, an employee or as someone who is self employed, do a little research and discover the resource specifically created to help you understand the work world and how it works, from all sides.

ABOUT YOUR WORK

I like Simon, one of three judges on American Idol. I find his feedback refreshingly honest. And while his words startle me with their ego wounding potential, the traditional feel-good, let-you-down-easy, sugar-coated feedback is not much of a gift. It’s hard to tell someone they’re not good enough and their dreams are not going to happen, at least in this venue. But not telling them is no gift either. Some contestants rise to the challenges he throws at them. Some don’t. And, some can’t. Which one are you?

The people who influenced me most in my career were those who gave me the hardest critiques. Stricken with a bruised-ego for days, or on occasion for months, inevitably their feedback helped me make the right life choices to improve, change direction, or stay the course with intensity. In fact, the boss who was the hardest on me is the one I thank the most. Good was not good enough if I was capable of better, and she was quick to point out when that was. No sugar coating from her. And the funny thing? When I was honest with myself, I knew she was right.

Being honest with yourself is one of the challenges to winning at working. We all have talents and abilities, but they’re not always in the areas we pursue at work. Too many people I’ve run across in my career have American Idol Syndrome (AIS). Like Idol contestants auditioning with little or no singing ability, these people believe they are good at what they do. They can’t understand why they don’t get the promotion, the outstanding review, or the highest increases. They view themselves as varsity team material, but they play with junior varsity skills.

When I was a freshman at Stanford, I got a D in biology. Stanford graded on a bell-curve, so an 84% that might traditionally put me in a B category, was near the class bottom. Accustomed to A’s, first quarter grades woke me up. At first, I rationalized a D at Stanford was an A or a B at most any other school. But, reality prevailed. I wasn’t at another school. If I was going to compete at the school I was at, it was time to use more than high school skills to bring results.

Are you applying yourself? Are you as good as you could be to get the raise, the promotion, or the more interesting work? If these are things you want, don’t suffer from AIS. Give yourself some Simon-esk feedback. Ego aside. A Simon-esk answer to the questions, “how good are you?” and “are you in the right field?” offers you a chance at becoming happier and more successful at working. The answers give you choices: you can stay the course; find a playing field at your skill level; improve your skills to compete where you are; or change directions.

Marketing Achieved Tampogo Meetings Events

Tampogo Meetings And Events For Success in Network Marketing. The key to success in any MLM network marketing business requires constant participation in all kinds of activities centering around the social networking aspects of personal development. This is where network marketing meetings come into play. MLM meetings come in all forms ranging from telephone meetings, webinars (online seminars), and the traditional hotel seminars.

Although network marketing meetings attended in the privacy of your own home through a phone and internet does have it’s unique advantages in terms of convenience, nothing can replace the credibility factor of a meeting conducted at a live event such as a hotel seminar. Were you aware that the wealthiest network marketers in the history books have built their downline organization through the power of seminars? When I say seminars, I am saying all forms of seminars. It doesn’t matter.

Today I am going to talk about my excitement about the series of Tampogo meetings and events taking place in the east coast already. They are crucial for your network marketing success. Tampogo is a new network marketing company that is already generating a lot of buzz within the MLM community regarding their wide selection of products at bargain basement prices that any member can get access to. How much does it cost to become a member? It costs nothing. It just requires the effort to pick up your little fingers and point and click your way to a free membership account.

If you have never signed up into a network marketing business after a hotel seminar, then I would have to draw the unmistakable conclusion that the rep (most likely your friend) who invited you to the meeting did a horrible job guiding you through the presentation process. Let me clarify this. Invitations to hotel business briefings are part of the network marketing prospecting process.

But if it is not implemented correctly and efficiently, the strong credible value of a hotel meeting serves no purpose at all and your success in network marketing will be compromised. You probably weren’t a qualified prospect in the beginning. The rep who invited you to the hotel meeting probably bribed you into it. In other words, you were never interested in a home-based business and your time was probably wasted by doing your friend a favor.

Why are network marketing meetings so important especially in a hotel environment? First of all, hotels serve the purpose of credibility. In case you are not aware, did you know that most of the top distributors for most network marketing organizations finally signed up right after attending a live event. And let me remind you that these distributors would not have signed up after listening to an opportunity call via a phone or webinar. Their network marketing success was inevitable. So what on earth is so powerful about hotel meetings? It seems to be the ultimate sales closer. No, it is proven fact.

One thing you must remember is that in order to close your network marketing prospects effectively, you cannot rely exclusively on hotel meetings to do the job. It requires a step by step process which your prospects are taken through in order for them to be a highly qualified prospect. The hotel meeting is just a tool. A tool is just part of the network marketing system for recruiting reps. In other words, you cannot pound a nail into a door without a hammer. They are both dependent on each other. Do you remember me telling you that the top distributors for any MLM company were never convinced or persuaded from an online seminar or conference call? The hotel meetings were the key ingredients to network marketing success that got them sold on the commitment factor.

Tampogo has already started a snow-balling trend of conducting live hotel seminars in order to aid their reps in the MLM recruiting process for success in network marketing. There are distributors who have already taken the initiative to host their own meetings in certain areas of Florida. A recent meeting was held at the Martin Luther King Center on 1201 Douglas Avenue, Clearwater, Florida on August 21st 2009 (7-8pm) where Gloria Campbell was the guest speaker. She is one of top leaders in the Tampogo organization.

And on the following day of August 22nd, 2009 (10-11:30am), Tampogo’s co-founder Isaac McLemore invited Tampogo reps and prospects to a live opportunity meeting at the Jamaica Bay Clubhouse on 15235 S. Tamiami Trail, Ft Myers, Florida. Let me remind you again that a Tampogo rep and a Tampogo customer are the same. When you sign up to become a free member with Tampogo, you become a rep for the company because you are not only enjoying the financial wonders of your personal discounted purchases, but also sharing those wonderful benefits with others.

If you happen to be familiar with the areas that I am talking about, then you are more than welcome to attend those meetings. I am pretty sure that once those meetings have taken place over there once, they are bound to be rescheduled there again. Hopefully this article of mine have done a great job providing you with enough information in your business decision-making process to enroll in Tampogo’s network marketing program for success.

Hopefully you are smart enough to realize that when something is offered for free that has benefits, your need to attend a seminar for credibility reasons is not necessary. But in the meantime, many of you will probably go just for networking purposes, and the excitement of being involved in a revolutionary product distribution platform through a network marketing channel. Are Your Decisions Stopping Your Goals?

We are often stuck precisely where we don’t want to be simply because we fail to take a decision. We are told to do our research and figure out the best path before moving on. Is that research stopping us in our tracks?

I am not telling anyone to put their research aside. We all need some research to figure out what to do next, to figure out how to proceed to the next step towards our success. But for the majority of people, that same research keeps them exactly where they don’t want to be.

When we are forced with a decision, any decision, we have 3 choices. We either take action right away. Analyse the situation or do absolutely nothing about it. Take a look around you, at all those successful people. What is the one choice they take almost everytime? It is the same for all the lucrative businesses.

I read a story about Michael Eisner a few weeks back. Michael took over the title of CEO at Disney when the company was struggling. It was only worth 2 billion dollars at the time. After only 15 years, it climbed to 100 billion. He took action rather than analyse forever. Only a couple of years after he had joined the company, the executives were contemplating opening retail stores to sell Disney products. It was a long debate and a much divided team of executives. Eventually, Mr. Eisner decided to just open 1 store in a mall for a short period of time. He stopped analysing and he acted.

What Mr. Eisner did is weigh the positive and the negative. If this idea worked, they stood a chance to make millions. But if it failed, the only loss was a bit of time and the cost of one store, which is not much for a huge corporation like Disney. The positive highly outweighed the negative. We tend to over analyse and research more than we need to in life and business. While we analyse, our research keeps us exactly where we are, which is usually not where we want to be. If it was, we would not consider change.

Research is good, but when you think about it for a few minutes and start balancing the plusses and the minuses, in most cases we act faster. Do enough research to get you started and act right away. Learn and analyse as you are going ahead with your decisions and adjust along the way. The best research Mr. Eisner did in this case is to open a store and learn from the results. Of course we all know those results are great. Disney now has over 250 million people visiting and buying in those stores every year. What would be the results of analysing more in the boardroom?

Here is another example. I have readers of our newsletter for new marketers who, after months of following, are still stuck at the start position. They are still analysing the process, saving all the articles for future use, gathering information. All these free steps could be started right away and those actions will give results. But instead, they will gather up information and do their research which stops them in their tracks and they are not progressing. Aside from a bit of time, they have nothing to lose, but what they can gain is much bigger.

Before we do research on the steps to use to achieve success, before we do research on whether an idea is great or not, lucrative or not, we must analise the plusses and the minuses. What have you got to gain by acting right away? What have you got to loses? And maybe our decisions to act faster won’t prevent our success from happening.

Stephane is now retired and helping new marketer get started online and get the Freedom of not having to work anymore.

Mentally Better: Your Brain Should Get Exercise Too

Common in our society today are the brain exercises designed to give our mental faculties the boost they need. There are games, activities and all other cranial calisthenics that claim to be helpful in maintaining our brains functioning superbly. You should know that these things are not just for those who have mental problems, these activities and exercises are also good for everyone ñ everyone who seeks to keep your minds healthy; to better your brains. From senior citizens to the younger generations, these activities should be helpful enough to keep them all mentally fit.

Although some scientists may not fully believe in the benefits of brain exercises, a lot of researchers and professionals hold on to the numerous studies showing that the brain really does need an exercise just like the body does. Studies have showed that people who have tried to perform brain exercises regularly have improved memory as well as focus. See, with simple brain exercises the functioning of both hemispheres of the brain are made better; your brain becomes healthier.

Cross Crawls

Cross crawls is a type of exercise that is based on the principle that our nervous system works homolaterally. This means that the left portion of our brain controls the movement of the right portion of our body, and so on for the other half. The principles of kinesiology are also applied in this exercise wherein rhythmic movements are suggested so that the brainís lateralization can be improved further. You can do this simply by touching your right hand or elbow to your left knee. Do this for several times, and after one side, you may proceed with the other side, doing the same steps.

This exercise, when performed by babies, are believed to realign the brain circuits in order for the left half of the brain to be able to connect with the left part of the body, and vice versa. For the adults, on the other hand, when this exercise is done there is an integration of the different functions and tasks of the brain. This is the reason why this exercise is mostly recommended for people suffering from dyslexia. Aside from this, this exercise is also good for strengthening your immune systemís responses.

Lazy Eights

Another exercise which can benefit both the left and right hemispheres of the brain is the ìlazy eights.î This is done by drawing the number ì8î on a piece of paper using your right hand for two minutes. After the right hand, you may proceed to draw the same sign using your left hand. This should be done daily, and the result is that you will have better concentration and your hand-and-eye coordination will improve. Aside from these, another benefit is that you would feel a reduction of stress and an enhancement of your mood.

You may also do the ìRhythmic Eightsî wherein instead of using paper and pencil, you can just create an imaginary eight in the air with your hands. This should be sufficient to coordinate the two sides of your brain as well.

Try Different Exercises for A Change

Since there are already a lot of exercises designed to improve your mental functioning, it would be a better idea if you would alter your exercises so that your brain will not get used to just one routine. By varying your brain work out, you are also able to exercise as many parts of your brain as possible. There are puzzles, crosswords and other brain games available; you just have to look for those which best fits you. Exercise your brain, better your brainís performance.

Wealthy Affiliate Platinum Success Story

Wealthy Affiliate Platinum

This is Kyle from Wealthy Affiliate Platinum, and man do I ever have a success story for you…

My story.

A story about me, the struggling student (I know, soooooo cliche) who took my girlfriend`s credit card and turned a budget of $5/day (that is all she would let me spend) into a million dollar empire.

Did that last sentence sound a little arrogant…or a little like a sales page. If so, here is the line written in more of our style:

I borrowed my girlfriend`s card after a bit of arm twisting, and with a dream and a little bit of luck, I was able to make $70 in my first month.

Pretty sweet right?

I thought so. I thought it was the absolutely coolest thing in the world that I could earn $1, let alone $70 from nothing online. Just by advertising a few products under a few keywords with probably the uuuugliest looking site ever, and make some money out of thin air.

Alright, so this was almost 8 years back now.

Still feels like yesterday with the cool factor that will never leave me, nonetheless.

So how exactly did I go from $5/day, to earning enough money to not worry about money?

Looking back, a few things….

The first would have to be effort. You know, the good ol’ “E” for effort. I had that. I worked hard. I have always worked hard. I have had some real crappy jobs in my life and I knew that if I applied the same work ethic to my own business, good things could happen. Without effort, what do you have really?

Secondly, I had the “G” for goals. My first goal was to make a website. My second goal was to learn how to Yahoo Search Marketing (called Overture at the time). The third was to make my first $1 online. Within the first month I accomplished all of these…and then created a brand new set of goals. Always set goals that are further ahead than where you are. It will always propel you forward.

And the last one was an “O” for overachieve. In order to reach your dreams you need to overachieve. You are pretty powerful. You have no idea of what you can really achieve until you become an overachiever. Take something that you think is a realistic goal…and work to do twice that much. I remember back when my goal was to build a single one page website in a week…then that become create a 10-page site on my lunch break. Set the bar high for yourself…you will be surprised at how much you can achieve. Become an overachiever!

If you take a look at the letters I have just outlined, it spells EGO!

Do I have an ego…no, well, yes…uh…

In ego I don’t think I am better than anyone…because I am not. I think that I can achieve anything that I set my mind to. I believe in myself. If you don’t believe in yourself who is going to believe in you. Having an ego (not thinking you are better than everyone) and applying the three EGO attributes got me from a poor student to a successful Internet marketer.

Did it take 8 years? No. It took 1 month to reach success. I took 6 months to reach some huge financial goals. And it took ____________ to achieve everything that I have dreamed of (notice how it is blank…my goals are yet to be completed).

You have everything inside of you to achieve success. My story is not something unrealistic for anyone to achieve. Put in some effort. Set some goals. Overachieve!

Take care and we will speak again soon. Remember, Wealthy Affiliate Platinum is launching on September 15th…keep an eye out for further updates.

Ciao,

Kyle
