Home Businesses Can Compete With The Big Guys On The Internet

I recently saw the news and heard another very severe report of the state of the US economy. The September unemployment number (9.8%) had just been reported, which converts into more than 15,000,000 folks now jobless.

Not just that, but the commentator also revealed that the US had just lost its request for the 2016 Olympics (and the billions of greenbacks that would be invested in renovations and new construction for the various Olympic platforms and rooms for the many millions of tourists, i.e, work for American citizens).

Consequently, rather than viewing the Olympics from Chicago, we’ll have to watch them all the way from Rio de Janeiro.

I also watched Rep. Alan Grayson point out statistics from a Harvard study finding that 44,789 US citizens die every year because they lack proper health care – and that converts into 122 North Americans dying each 24 hours because they don’t have health insurance coverage.

So what’s the average Yankee to do? Particularly those 15,000,000 jobless Americans?

I submit that rather than simply sitting around bewailing the situation, or getting increasingly pissed off as they forge ahead with their fruitless job searches, many of these folks should build their own Internet enterprises .

When I invest in the stock market, one of the criteria I look for are firms that have ‘big moats’ i.e., they have such a robust dominant position on their industry or market (thru proprietary intellectual capital or other competitive advantage) that it is extremely troublesome for others to enter into that marketplace and battle with them.

The web isn’t like that – it has practically no ‘moat,’ meaning there are only a few obstacles to entry.

About any one with a P.C. and access to the internet can begin their own web businesses as the Internet offers a level playing field (i.e, even the smallest organization can challenge the very largest corporations ). This is true regardless of whether you are a Gen Y person just out of college ( or never even attended university ) to the Boomers and Seniors who are either evaluating retirement, or already retired.

‘Knowledge’ appears to be the only legitimate moat that exists with respect to starting a web business. The best thing about having a moat that is formed primarily of knowledge – is that anybody can readily cross that moat – simply by being inspired enough to acquire the knowledge of the trade.

Affiliate marketing programs are probably the easiest methods to begin a web business, and many of them also include training regarding the product that you will be selling for them.

The issue with many online opportunities, however, is that their coaching is bounded, and generally centered only on instructing you about their product ( s ). Sadly, you’ll have to have more information and skills than that.

One very good starting place with obtaining the realization that you will need is to enroll in the Online Success for Beginners program.
